The following statistics are returned:
- totalSamples - the amount of samples in all storage layers
- totalGridLayers - the amount of grid (i.e. multi-dimensional) storage layers
- totalFilledBoxes - the amount of grid layers that are fully filled with samples
- totalBoxPositions - the total amount of positions in all grid layers
- totalFilledPositions - the total amount of grid positions that have samples in them
