By default this call will not create any meta fields even if there are required fields.

If you add the query parameter autoCreateMetaDefaults=true to this call then it will create the meta fields with their default values as defined in the sample type. Note: meta fields in the sample type that don't have a default value are not created.

For each sample's sampleMetas, bind a value to a field defined on the sample type by setting its sampleTypeMetaID (resolve these via GET /sampleTypes/{sampleTypeID}/meta) and matching the field's sampleDataType. A meta supplied without a sampleTypeMetaID is still accepted, but is stored as a free, unconnected meta: its value is still matched by general full-text search, but it cannot be used as a structured per-field search filter.
